Welcome to my website.
I invite you to take a moment to look around.

I took the photo on my masthead while visiting Berlin
in July 2009. Although this bit of graffiti is a fairly recent
addition to the Berlin Wall, it captures the spirit of the people
of Eastern Germany
during the Cold War.
“Hope is important” is a message I
repeat to myself each day.

“Fiction is more than an entertainment, more than an intellectual exercise that sharpens one’s sensibility and awakens a critical spirit.
It is an absolute necessity so that civilization continues to exist,
renewing and preserving in us the best of what is human.”

Mario Vargas Llosa, In Praise of Reading Fiction

My outgoing email isn’t working so I must reply on your site again. I obtained the Behind the Cabin Doors from the estate of a disabled veteran who at the time was in the VA hospital in St Louis and was inscribed to him by Kathryn on 2-19-83. Thanks for taking the time to give me some info.
